SANTIMAMIÑE
The Santimamiñe Cave is an Upper Paleolithic treasure with a fascinating history spanning thousands of years and an accidental discovery that changed the archaeology of Bizkaia.
The sanctuary houses nearly fifty painted and engraved figures, primarily in black (charcoal), dating to the Magdalenian period (around 14,000 years ago).

The Pozalagua Cave, located in the Karrantza Valley (Bizkaia), is a unique geological site in the world, home to the highest known concentration of eccentric stalactites. These formations defy gravity by growing in all directions in a tree-like or irregular fashion, rather than vertically.

The Loizaga Tower, located in Galdames (Bizkaia), is a reconstructed 14th-century fortress that houses the most comprehensive Rolls-Royce collection in Europe. This museum of vintage and classic cars is the only place on the continent where every model of the British brand manufactured between 1910 and 1990 can be seen.

MUÑATONES CASTLE
Muñatones Castle, located in Muskiz (Vizcaya), is the only medieval tower in Vizcaya that holds the status of a castle thanks to its defensive system of outer walls. Built between the 14th and 15th centuries, it was the home of Lope García de Salazar, chronicler and key figure in the Basque factional wars.

It houses three large boulders, estimated to be 40 million years old, which support each other, creating a unique and natural structure, unlike the hexagonal construction of the hermitage that surrounds them.

According to local tradition, the three stones were brought by the "Basajaun" (giants of Basque mythology).

If you're looking for a place with a truly nautical vibe, the Santa Catalina Lighthouse in Lekeitio is the only one in the Basque Country that you can visit inside to discover the secrets of navigation.
A "fear" simulator at sea
The highlight of the visit is its interpretation center. They have a simulator where you experience what a sailor feels when there's a raging storm, thick fog, and the only hope is seeing the lighthouse's flash. It's a really cool, immersive experience.
